Instantly Relieve Back Pain With These 3 Stretches

An aching, nagging back can be annoying and distracting. While the combination of Chiropractic and Physical Therapy is the best method to strengthen and restore an injured area, gentle stretching can help alleviate the healing process and temporarily relieve back pain.

Here are 3 easy stretches to relieve spinal pain:

Downward Facing Dog

From a high plank position, push your tailbone upwards towards the ceiling. Press into your shoulder blades. 

Trunk Rotation Twist 

Lie on your back and bring knees to your chest, as if you’re sitting in a chair. Extend arms out to the side and slowly rotate both your knees over to the side and hold for a few seconds. Switch sides. Repeat as necessary. 

Cat and Cow Stretch 

In a tabletop position, gently tilt your pelvis upward and arch your back towards the ceiling. Hold for a few seconds. Then proceed to slowly move into an arching back position and hold for 10-15 seconds. Repeat as necessary.
