Chips, candy, baked goods - all temptations that are apart of life. Who doesn’t love a tasty mid-day snack?

The break-room cupcake may have been seemingly right in the moment, but chances are, you probably don’t feel fantastic afterward. And life is too short not to feel anything but spectacular. 

Ice cream and sour gummy candies are fine in moderation and for the sake of sanity. However, frequent unhealthy eating habits not only cause long-term damage, but will influence immediate changes to your energy levels, gut health, and more. 

The good news is we’ve constructed a list of easy “life-hacks” to help you to make better choices when you come face to face with foods that aren't nourishing to the body. 

Realize that your body is the most excellent machine in existence. It needs the finest fuel.

Imagine your dream car, a luxury fashion item, fine art, a rare diamond - something that you deem to hold high value. The human body is a billion times more precious and priceless than anything on this planet. There has never been someone like you and there will never be anyone like you again. By realizing your worth, it is much easier to make choices that make you feel good both inside and out.

Drink water

Studies show that sometimes when we think that we are hungry, we are just dehydrated. A good way to determine hunger levels is to drink a glass or two of water first. If you're still hungry afterward, then snack on something wholesome like a banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter or a palm-full of assorted nuts.

Pack healthy snacks

When temptations to snack on junk food arise, knowing that you have a healthy snack prepped and ready to eat will make you less inclined to want to act on those unhealthy impulses. Chances are, by choosing your healthy option over the junk food, you will feel just as satisfied as you would otherwise - and feel a lot better.

Stock your home with only healthy foods

When we get tired, stressed, emotional, etc. it’s easy to want to turn to the fridge for temporary relief. By keeping only quality food in your kitchen, the temptation to snack on junk food will disappear. Not to mention, whole and minimally processed foods are full of vitamins and minerals, which will promote mental clarity and make it easier to resolve any negative feelings.
